PAINT TOOL SAI TUTORIAL
Here is a step by step on how I do my Roses.

---
Step One :
Make a new layer (if you have not already done so), figure out what color you wish to use for the rose(s). In this case, I chose a blue rose, so I took a darker shade of the blue hue and made a random round like shape. The shape does not matter at this point.  Well, not really anyway. You will see why shortly.
tool used PEN

Step Two :
Once again, make a new layer! ( the shortcut for a new layer in Sai is L), following you have the dark solid shape layer under the new one, choose the color you want to use, (i.e the first color of blue I wanted to use).  This step might seem like it took a lot of thought, but you are mistaken, it is just about what looks good to you and how you want the petals to look. I personally just wing it, and if one does not look right, I try to make it so my eyes are happy! YAY! there is nothing too difficult about how I do roses.  If you want them to be perfect and lush, it might take a while, but overall it is not hard at all.
tool used AIRBRUSH

Step Three :
I use the water brush for this detail, on the layer you just made, meaning the one with all the random lines that look like a wannabe rose, use a water tool and blend the area inside the petals.  So go from the rim of the line you made down to the other line that creates the other petal. Don't let the petals touch unless you want a couple to overlap etc. I usually start from the middle of the tiny tiny petals outward. Also, if you feel that there are too few petals on the outside, just use the airbrush tool and make a couple new petals and blend them with the water tool.  The picture won't blow up...hopefully...
tool used WATERCOLOR BRUSH

Step Four :
Copy the petal layer and set that copied layer to overlay. If the color is too strong, you can adjust the opacity, or even change the hue to make it look spiffy and awesome! I did not do that here for the sake of everyone's sanity who might read this...

Step Five :
So you might have a ugly shape under the petals by now like I do above in the demonstration I posted.  That's alright! Now just go back to the very first layer with the darker color and use the eraser tool to shape down the well, shape. I normally would leave a thin or thicker outline like rim, to keep it looking like it is it's own flower, then go on to the other roses or what other details might have you. But if you did not notice, YES this is the last step! You now know how to make a rose like Lelittleluna!! woo hooo!!! \(>u<\)~*

Hope you all have fun making a sea of roses! ;D

love you all!
